CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviours, improving your ability to manage your emotions, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. CBT is used for a wide range of issues.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT is a type of CBT that focuses on acceptance of hardship, focus on the present and moving forward through overwhelming emotions. This type of therapy is often helpful for those who have experienced workplace bullying and harassment.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Pat is trained to the advanced level in this technique. This type of therapy is used to over come trauma and distressing images.

Hypnosis

Pat is trained in the use of hypnosis. She uses hypnosis to learn to relax, to reduce stress, and work with trauma.

Insight Oriented Therapy

Pat uses conversation between herself and the client to help people through understanding and expressing feelings, motivations, beliefs, fears, and desires and to explore old wounds.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to help patients identify their values and the skills associated with them. Narrative therapy provides the patient with knowledge of their ability to live these values so they can deal with current and future problems. Pat helps the client develop a new narrative about themselves by investigating the history of their values.

Marital Therapy

Pat uses a blend of Imago, Gottman and McMaster models of improving, repairing and re-energizing the relationship between a couple.
